JOB SUMMARY:

The Painter and Surface Finishing Specialist is a key member of the OSS Health Facilities team responsible for maintaining the aesthetic quality, safety, and functionality of all interior and exterior painted and finished surfaces across OSS Healthโ€™s network of campuses. Based primarily out of the Powder Mill campus, this position will travel to all OSS locations to perform a wide variety of painting, patching, finishing, and surface maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work independently while supporting the organizationโ€™s overall facility standards.

SCHEDULE: The standard schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during normal business hours. However, flexibility is required to accommodate occasional projects that must be completed before or after operational hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, paint, and finish interior and exterior surfaces across all OSS Health campuses.
  • Perform drywall patching, wall repair, and surface preparation to ensure high-quality finishes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of painted areas and recommend necessary maintenance or repair.
  • Coordinate painting and finishing work to minimize disruption to clinical and operational activities.
  • Maintain inventory of paint supplies, tools, and materials; ensure proper storage and handling.
  • Collaborate with Facilities and Operations teams to plan and prioritize projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide input on paint colors, finishes, and materials for new construction or renovation projects.
  • Flexibly adjust schedule as needed for projects requiring work before or after regular operational hours.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous professional painting experience preferred; experience in a healthcare or commercial setting is a plus.
  • Proficiency with painting tools, surface preparation techniques, and finishing materials.
  • Ability to perform drywall repair, patching, and other minor surface restoration work.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation required (travel between campuses is expected).
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
