PURPOSE


The Audio Visual (AV) Support Technician provides hands-on support for AV systems across Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel, including the hotel, casino floor, service areas, meeting rooms, and event center. This role ensures reliable setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment - projectors, displays, sound reinforcement, microphones, conferencing, digital signage, and control systems - to deliver exceptional guest and team member experiences. The AV Support Technician partners closely with IT, Events/Entertainment, Facilities, and external vendors to plan and execute events, resolve issues quickly, and maintain high system uptime.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Event and Room Support: Set up, support, and strike AV systems for meetings, shows, and special events; perform sound checks, stage patching, mic/IFB coordination, projection/switching, and live presentation support.
  • Daily Operations: Monitor and support installed AV systems (conference rooms, event center, digital signage, background music/PA, IPTV) to ensure availability, correct presets, and consistent quality.
  • Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Diagnose and resolve AV issues (audio, video, control, networked AV) quickly; escalate to vendors/engineers when needed; document incidents and resolutions.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, firmware updates, inventory management, lamp/laser hour checks, cable and connector repairs, and cleanliness of gear and racks; maintain accurate asset records.
  • System Configuration and Integration: Assist with configuration of DSPs, control processors, and networked AV under guidance from IT; ensure safe integration with house systems and IT standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with Events/Entertainment, Hotel Operations, F&B, Security, and IT to confirm requirements, run-of-show, and change requests; provide clear pre/post-event updates.
  • Vendor and Rental Coordination: Interface with external vendors for equipment rentals, repairs, and service tickets; verify deliveries, test gear, and ensure adherence to SLAs and property standards.
  • User Training and Documentation: Provide basic training and quick-reference guides for end users; maintain room diagrams, I/O maps, labeling, runbooks, and inventory logs.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Follow safety protocols for rigging, power, and lift work; comply with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations, including restricted areas and secure handling of equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Capture lessons learned, propose standard room presets, recommend equipment lifecycle refreshes, and contribute to AV standards that improve reliability and guest experience.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Support the property's overall operations and success by fulfilling additional responsibilities as required.


Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Two (2) years of IT or technical experience including the support of AV systems (e.g. conference rooms, PA/background music, digital signage/IPTV, projection/switching, basic DSP/control).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Technical foundations: Knowledge of live event AV, PA/wireless, projection/switching, and signal flow to prepare systems and verify readiness.
  • Documentation literacy: Ability to interpret run-of-show notes, room diagrams, I/O maps, and labeling; ensure accurate handoff to operators.
  • Troubleshooting: Proficiency in basic fault isolation across audio, video, control, and networked AV with clear, timely escalation.
  • DSP/control familiarity: Capability to load/verify presets and perform guided basic configuration.
  • Room technologies: Working understanding of conferencing systems, IPTV, digital signage, and background music/PA to confirm presets and quality.
  • Preventive maintenance: Skill in inspections, firmware updates, lamp/laser tracking, cable/connector care, rack/gear cleanliness, and asset logging.
  • Service orientation: Ability to communicate clearly with Events/Entertainment, Hotel Ops, F&B, Security, and IT; explain technical info in plain language.
  • Hospitality standards: Professionalism and discretion in guest-facing spaces; adherence to property policies, restricted-area rules, and equipment security.
  • Safety practices: Knowledge of safe cable management, power basics, ladder/lift use, PPE, and incident reporting.
  • Core capabilities: Strong time management, attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and adaptability to changing priorities and schedules.

Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel exercises Snoqualmie Tribal Member/Native American preference in hiring, in compliance with the Snoqualmie Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). You must obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Snoqualmie Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. The use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant for positions in any department other than Transportation (Valet, Driver I). DOT panel testing is required for the Driver position.
