The MRO Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory management, storage, and distribution of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials required to support manufacturing and facility operations. This role ensures critical spare parts and maintenance supplies are available when needed while optimizing inventory investment, supplier performance, and operational efficiency. The MRO Supervisor collaborates closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Finance teams to support equipment uptime and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise MRO storeroom personnel and inventory specialists
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all tool crib items (i.e. tooling, gauges, fixtures, spare parts, consumables, etc.)
  • Establish inventory control processes to ensure accuracy and material availability
  • Facilitate and conduct cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Identify obsolete, excess, and slow-moving inventory and develop reduction plans
  • Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and safety stock requirements
  • Coordinate sourcing and procurement activities for MRO materials and services
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and service agreements
  • Ensure availability of components needed for preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to identify critical spare parts requirements
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions in ERP and CMMS systems
  • Develop and track KPIs such as: Inventory accuracy, Stockout frequency, Inventory turns, On-time supplier delivery, Maintenance downtime due to parts shortages, etc.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control, storage, and cost savings
  • Prepare management reports and recommend corrective actions
  • Transport material as required using proper handling methods
  • Keep work area in orderly condition with respect to proper materials, tools, equipment, and personal belongings. (Includes cleaning of equipment, floors, tables, etc.)
  • Maintain quality standards by following proper inspection procedures
  • Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Understand and adhere to current quality and control policies
  • Perform other duties as needed

What We're Looking For
Education /Experience Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years of indirect purchasing or program or project management experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment with preference for globally supported environment
  • Associate or Bachelor 's Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Management or equivalent preferred
  • Experience working as member of a team
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Supplier & Inventory Management Skills
  • Team Leader, Critical Analysis, and excellent Negotiation Skills
  • Coaching and Team Development Skills
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Web based tracking software, and SAP-ERP systems knowledge a plus
  • Must be self-motivated/directed. Required to determine most, if not all, of own work assignments; both tactical and strategic. Requires minimal management input to achieve objectives.
