Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plans and organizes daily work schedules in coordination with Lead Radiology Technologist.
2. Supervises daily continuous quality improvement efforts for excellence in the treatment/testing of patients.
3. Evaluates patient wait times and appointment availability, obtains feedback from patients, patient family, staff, radiologists, and other hospital departments and reports status to Manager
4. Ensures accurate and prompt posting of procedure charges in the hospital information system and documentation of patient and examination data in radiology records.
5. Ensures documentation of mammography follow-up of patients meets ACR and MQSA regulations. Ensures that mammography department and records meet MQSA and ACR standards and prepares documentation for IEMA inspections.
6. Participates in volume reporting, productivity reporting, quality improvement data, and maintaining appropriate documentation for regulatory agencies.
7. Assists management with an effective quality and process improvement program for mammography services.
8. Performs/assists in quality control checks on equipment such as calibration, machine protocols, operational policies and procedures (technique charts), etc and ensures that preventative maintenance and equipment repairs are performed and documented records are maintained.
9. Functions as a liaison for mammography between Imaging Department and other hospital departments.
10. Maintains a cost efficient supply of inventory, which minimizes department expense while ensuring appropriate stock levels.
11. Assists the radiologists as needed to coordinate patients and exams for efficient work flow and efficiency.
Required credentials : licensed by IEMA, Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology, Mammography Registry or Registry Eligibility; CPR Certification
