IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is a recognized leader in Facilities Management and Operations in support of Defense, Intelligence, and National Security missions
Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland. Services provided include comprehensive facility operations; project management for renovations, minor construction, and major equipment repairs; engineering, construction, and operations support; custodial and grounds maintenance services; environmental, safety, and occupational health support; food services; motorpool and logistics operations; and physical and technical security services.
The Security Monitor 2 will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, patrolling the premises, controlling access to restricted areas, and responding to security incidents in accordance with established protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security procedures, situational awareness, and the ability to assess and respond to potential threats in a high-security environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Continuously monitor to detect unauthorized access, suspicious activity, or security breaches.
  • Conduct regular perimeter checks and patrols to ensure the integrity of the base's security infrastructure.
  • Track and document all incidents, observations, and activities during assigned shifts.
  • Conducting basic facility checks, and inspecting material deliveries, personnel, and vehicles.

  • Enforce access control procedures to ensure that only authorized personnel enter secure areas.
  • Verify identification, credentials, and clearances for military personnel, contractors, and visitors.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access or removal of restricted materials.
  • Respond quickly to alarms, disturbances, and suspicious behavior to assess and mitigate potential threats.
  • Follow established protocols to report and escalate incidents
  • Assist in emergency situations such as evacuations, fires, medical emergencies, and active threats.
  • Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols along the base perimeter and critical facilities.
  • Inspect fences, gates, locks, and barriers to ensure that all security measures are intact.
  • Identify and report vulnerabilities in physical security systems or operational procedures.
  • Enforce compliance with site regulations, policies, and protocols.
  • Follow procedures for classified information protection and ensure adherence to security clearance guidelines.
  • Monitor compliance with safety and security policies to prevent unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records of incidents, security breaches, and patrol activities.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and submit them to security supervisors and base command as required.
  • Provide briefings to incoming security personnel during shift changes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or graduate equivalency.
  • 1+ Year(s) of security monitoring experience in a high security environment.
  • Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) training is required for Virginia and Maryland within 90 days of entering on duty.
