Job description

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Lead Midstream Field Service Specialist for our Oil & Gas Equipment & Services client. This is a remote position with 50%+ travel (including overnights) within the Northeast Region of West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York.

  • Hourly rate of $45 to $55 DOE plus OT (average 40 - 48 hours per week), on-call payments, company vehicle, cell phone, and full benefits
  • 8+ years of oil & gas field service experience including experience with dehydration, BTEX, gas processing, and similar systems
  • Experience working with midstream clients in the Northeast preferred
  • Strong I&E and Mechanical troubleshooting experience

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Midstream Field Service Specialist to support and guide regional field service operations for midstream systems and process equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who provides field-based guidance, troubleshooting expertise, and day-to-day coordination for field technicians. The Field Service Lead plays a key role in ensuring safe, efficient execution of work, delivering high-quality service to customers, and partnering to enhance operational performance.

Responsibilities:

Field Support

  • Serve as a lead resource in the field, supporting team members with complex jobs, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Reinforce expectations around HSEQ and customer service.
  • Support onboarding and training of new technicians and assist with skill development of the team.

Field Technical Operations

  • Lead and support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of midstream systems, including dehydration, gas filtration, separation, mitigation systems, and process equipment.
  • Provide troubleshooting support across electrical, automation, and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure execution of preventive maintenance programs, inspections, calibrations, sampling, and cleanouts.
  • Review field work for quality, accuracy, and effective root-cause resolution.

Customer Support

  • Serve as a lead field contact for customers, ensuring professional communication and high levels of service.
  • Communicate job status, findings, and recommendations clearly to customers and internal teams.
  • Support service opportunities, including parts recommendations in partnership with sales and operations teams.

Controls & Automation Support

  • Provide field-level support for PLCs, control panels, instrumentation, and automation systems.
  • Work with engineering and controls teams to improve system reliability, troubleshooting, and serviceability.
  • Interpret and apply P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical documentation in field applications.

Process Improvement & Field Reporting

  • Complete and review field reports, maintenance records, and service documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify recurring issues, field trends, and improvement opportunities, and share feedback with internal teams.
  • Support coordination of field activities, scheduling, and resource planning to ensure efficient execution.

Requirements:

· 8+ years of experience in a field service or technical role within an industrial or energy services environment; supervisory / lead level experience a plus.

· Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems; experience with Dehydration, BTEX and midstream/gas processing equipment required.

· Working knowledge of PLC’s, control panels, instrumentation, and low-voltage electrical systems.

· Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-facing skills.
