Job Title: MES Application support Engineer

Location: Normal IL

Job Description:

  • Required highly motivated and experienced MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Technical Analyst to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of MES solutions, from design and implementation to ongoing support and continuous improvement within our manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements across the five aspects (process, information, event, roles), as appropriate for the large initiative
  • May either lead or work as part of a team to gather requirements - Assist in technology research, evaluation and solution selection to meet various needs of the business
  • Design and develop MES solutions for new production lines for Rivian's R2 site , including Functional Design Specifications, As-Is/To-Be analysis, and requirement mapping.
  • Lead or conduct solution assessment and validation to ensure that functional and technical specifications meet the identified business needs within the organization
  • Collaborate with PLM, ERP, MES other key technical leads to drive deployment, training and support for various functional areas
  • Configure and manage MES data, including Bill of Process (BOP), Routes, Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), Parts, and Work Instructions.
  • Own and manage validation builds and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), providing troubleshooting and support.
  • Support new product introductions and plant commissioning, including application deployment and system validations.
  • Provide Level 2/3 production support, including root cause analysis and on-call assistance for critical issues.
  • Conduct problem analysis as needed. Escalate complex issues for additional analysis and resolution as appropriate
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and process flow diagrams.

Qualifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering or a related subject required
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in MES solution design, implementation, and support in a manufacturing setting like shop floor.
  • Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and MES functionalities.
  • Experience with Rockwell FTPC or similar MES platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to be flexible with different shifts, to be onsite, or provide on-call support as needed.
