Front Desk Medical Receptionist - OB/GYN
Overview:
Downtown Women OBGYN, a division of Square Care Medical Group, is currently seeking an experienced, compassionate and dedicated individual to fill the position of Front Desk Medical Receptionist in our Ob/Gyn medical practice located in Soho. We are seeking a reliable and professional Front Desk Receptionist to join our OB/GYN team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical setting, EMR experience, excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. If you are organized, patient-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. This candidate will assist in promoting a positive patient experience as outlined in our mission, vision, and values. Serious inquiries only.
Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the medical practice in a professional and friendly manner
  • Patient registration, appointment check-in/check-out and scheduling
  • Scanning and processing patient health information in EHR - Athenahealth
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility
  • Collect and process patient balances
  • Answer and direct phone calls using a multi-line phone system
  • Receives and distributes mail and packages
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception and waiting area
  • Answer patient questions and provides assistance and directions when necessary
  • Process messages within EHR for patients and providers relating to patient care
  • Performs other duties as needed
  • Maintains all compliance standards as determined by the Medical Group

Experience & Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience working in customer service
  • Friendly, compassionate and energetic disposition
  • Courteous to all patients and visitors
  • Contributes to a positive and caring workplace culture
  • Works well in a team setting as well as independently
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
