Medical Receptionist/Front Office

Location: Manhattan and Brooklyn
Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Maiden Lane Medical is a leading, patient-centered, multi-specialty medical practice with seven locations across New York City. We are seeking Medical Receptionists to help support our busy practice.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments for patients.

  • Obtain and enter accurate demographic information and enter into the EMR.

  • Answer the telephone promptly, politely, and professionally.

  • Schedule appointments correctly - review appointment date, time, and location.

  • Answer questions and offer other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused service.

  • Make patient reminder calls as requested.

  • Make calls to reschedule appointments when necessary.

  • Help patient check in for their appointments, collect proper copays, deductibles and balances.

  • Behave in a very professional and accommodating manner.

  • Light scanning/filing.

  • Other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements:

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.

  • Ability to relate to persons with diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment to handle difficult patients successfully.

  • Ability to demonstrate good customer service.

  • Associate's Degree or related healthcare certification preferred.

  • One year of experience in customer service and/or related clinical environment; working knowledge of medical terminology.

Preference will be given to applicants with physical therapy, women's health, and eClinicalWorks experience.
