Job Description

The Market Lead serves as a liaison between Market team members and the management team to ensure that merchandise is properly stocked and displayed attractively across Eataly’s retail department. The Market Lead promotes exceptional guest service on the retail and quick service team, using interpersonal skills and product knowledge to drive sales and improve guest satisfaction. Reports to the Market Manager.

  • Stocks, rotates and faces products according to department procedure and merchandizing standards
  • Maintains proper stock levels, organizing back stock and warehouse storage effectively and efficiently
  • Follows order and inventory procedures and receives deliveries, verifying order and invoice accuracy
  • Assists with delegating tasks, supervising, training and motivating Market Associates/Baristas
  • Maintains accurate department signage, pricing and labelling
  • Rotates products according to First In First Out (FIFO) standards
  • Inspects shelves and immediately removes expired or damaged merchandise
  • Communicates grocery needs, adjustments and problems to the Market Manager promptly and efficiently
  • Assesses departmental food waste with department heads and diverts waste to donations
  • Partners with Events & Education to coordinate product demos
  • Maintains safe and cleanly work conditions and compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Performs light cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting and packaging disposal as necessary
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in grocery
  • Proactive and able to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Italian food and beverage preferred

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
  • Ability to use a hand truck, cart, box cutter, ladder and cleaning supplies

Compensation

  • Compensation for this role is CAD $20.00 hourly, plus tips.
