Job description

Description
The University of Texas at Austin Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CAEE) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure, professional track position to teach undergraduate courses in Introduction to Design. Successful candidates will be expected to teach the undergraduate courses ARE 320K 'Introduction to Design 1' and ARE 320L 'Introduction to Design 2' to undergraduate students in the CAEE department. In the Intro to Design 1 course students are introduced to multidisciplinary building design principles, concepts, and problem-solving approaches using a series of two- and three-dimensional studies. The Intro to Design 2 course is a continuation of these concepts with focus on more advanced topics of multidisciplinary building design. Both courses utilize hand-sketching, Rhino, and Revit among other tools. The successful candidate is expected to develop connections with building industry professionals in support of these courses.
The CAEE department has over 53 faculty members (including 12 professional track adjunct faculty members) and is currently ranked amongst the top ten graduate and undergraduate programs in both civil and environmental engineering by US News and World Report.
Qualifications
A master's degree, or higher, in disciplines associated with building design is required, such as Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or related field. A record of teaching excellence and/or professional experience related to the course topics is beneficial.
