Summary

Strategize with the Director of Marketing & PR to create strategic marketing plans to optimize the effectiveness of Houston Ballet’s budget and resources to achieve target marketing and revenue benchmarks while expanding Houston Ballet's reach through traditional and digital marketing efforts that bolster brand integrity.  This is an in-person position located in Houston, TX. *This role reports to the Director of Marketing & PR. 

   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Concept and implement all marketing collateral related to season, subscription, and single tickets campaigns, including but not limited to direct mail, promotional items, and website copy and creative content. 
  • Oversee email marketing tactics, collaborating with the Director of Marketing & PR for content creation, audience segmentation, and reporting. 
  • Develop, plan, and implement organic social media strategies and maintain a high-frequency posting schedule for four social media platforms 
  • Develop and coordinate copy and creative with our digital firm to execute paid digital campaigns. 
  • Collaborate with the Audio and Visual team and applicable consulting firms on the branding concepts for all institutional video and photoshoots while overseeing logistics coordination and execution. 
  • Coordinate and schedule supervised on-site photography for Houston Ballet Company and Academy needs. 
  • Manage fulfillment and delivery of all print and direct mail campaigns with vendors booked by the department. 
  • Support the Director of Marketing & PR in analyzing potential strategic partner relationships.  
  • Manage and coordinate marketing, brand image, and promotional tactics at Houston Ballet community events, including but not limited to, Theater District Open House, Miller Outdoor Theatre performances, holiday promotional events at Wortham Center and City of Houston, and select Nutcracker Market events. 
  • Approach and execute duties with a positive and collaborative demeanor while prioritizing high-quality work, patron-centered focus, and brand integrity. 

Requirements of the role

  • 4+ years of marketing experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field 
  • High proficiency in executing paid social media and digital campaigns. 
  • Strong analytical and project management skills 
  • Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills with a high proficiency for Copywriting 
  • 2+ years of management experience 
  • Performing or Visual Arts experience preferred.  
  • 2+ years of experience with Google Analytics or equivalent certification 
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects and achieve deadlines. 
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. 
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace 
  • Experience with content management systems such as EPiServer and Umbraco preferred. 
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe CS or other design programs such as Canva preferred. 
  • Assist with seasonal Houston Ballet community and promotional events, including some nights, and weekends throughout our production season with key events during the holiday season.
