Job description

Solvere Technical Group is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Instructor - Marine Welding & Systems to join our team in Norfolk, VA.
Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and delivers instructional programs in welding, brazing, and ship fundamentals;
  • Trains students and shipboard personnel on safety and maintenance procedures;
  • Administers and grades examinations; submits curriculum update recommendations;
  • Maintains all personnel welding/brazing records and qualifications;
  • Conducts quarterly self-assessments

Experience:

  • 10 yrs full-time hands-on welding and brazing experience aboard naval vessels; prior military or shipyard experience preferred
  • Required certs: 6G P-73 & 4F/5F P-14 carbon steel (SMAW); 4F/5F P-14 & 6G P-73 carbon and stainless (GTAW);
  • Vertical and horizontal Grade III, IV, V brazing; welder/brazer workmanship

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • NDA requirements
