Job description

A Carter Lumber Interior Door Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing the production of interior door production. Monitors all aspects of production to optimize productivity while minimizing operating expenses. Responsible for coordinating and implementing production schedules. Identifies and resolves any staff or production issues in a timely manner. Ensures manufacturing is aligned in order to exceed customer needs and expectations. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.
Requirements to be Considered for the Position:
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • General manufacturing experience required
  • Six Sigma certification preferred but not mandatory
  • Door shop experience preferred but not required
  • Possess knowledge in loading and shipping methods
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to work onsite at our Mason, OH facility with relocation assistance available
Responsibilities of the Position:
Supervision & Development
  • Oversees interior door production.
  • Brings customer focus to the manufacturing process
  • Motivates, leads and trains employees to ensure performance, production and delivery requirements are met.
  • Ensures all quality standards are met on a daily basis
  • Assists in hiring and counseling employees on problematic situations.
Production & Scheduling
  • Ensures production schedules are met and that quality products are being produced.
  • Evaluates and suggests improvements in the production.
  • Organizes and prioritizes production and schedules to ensure lead times are met.
  • Ensures preventative maintenance is performed as scheduled
Inventory Control
  • Ensure inventory is properly accounted for and accurate.
  • Responsible for properly delegating and overseeing all aspects of inventory according to policies and procedures.
Safety
  • Communicates policies and ensures that employees are following safety standards during production.
  • Inspect machinery to make sure of the proper set up and use.
