The DC Logistics Specialist - Level 2 is responsible for safely and accurately executing logistics operations within client data centers, warehouses, and internal transport environments. This role performs material movement, inventory control, receiving, shipping, staging, deployment support, and system transactions with limited supervision.ย 

The Level 2 Specialist is expected to work both independently and as part of a team, maintain strict inventory accuracy, support service delivery standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in logistics operations.ย 

Active Construction Environment & Required PPEย 

This role operates within an active data center construction and deployment environment. Employees may work in or around construction zones, loading docks, staging areas, equipment pathways, partially completed data halls, and areas with ongoing trade activity. Work conditions may include exposure to moving equipment, construction materials, uneven surfaces, elevated noise levels, changing access routes, and other hazards commonly associated with active construction sites.ย 

All employees are required to follow site safety rules, posted signage, access restrictions, and direction from site leadership, safety personnel, and authorized construction management representatives. Employees must remain aware of their surroundings at all times, use designated walkways and approved work areas, and immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, damaged equipment, or potential hazards.ย 

Required Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while operating in designated construction or deployment areas and may include, but is not limited to:ย 

  • Hard hatย 
  • Steel-toed safety bootsย 
  • High-visibility vest or approved high-visibility clothingย 
  • Safety eyewear / eye protectionย 
  • Work glovesย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Safely move all parts, materials, equipment, and inventory into, out of, and around client data centers and warehouse environments.ย 
  • Execute receiving, shipping, staging, put-away, kitting, picking, packing, and deployment support activities.ย 
  • Maintain strict inventory control through accurate system transactions, barcode scanning, labeling, and documentation.ย 
  • Support rack, server, storage, network, cabling, peripheral, spare parts, and data center infrastructure material movement.ย 
  • Transport inventory by hand, cart, pallet jack, forklift, box truck, or other approved equipment as trained and authorized.ย 
  • Validate shipment accuracy against purchase orders, bills of lading, packing slips, tickets, or deployment documentation.ย 
  • Identify, investigate, document, and escalate inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, shipment variances, or process non-compliance.ย 
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, or annual physical inventories and cycle counts.ย 
  • Maintain operational areas in accordance with 5S, safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.ย 
  • Follow client-specific Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, security requirements, and service level expectations.ย 
  • Monitor assigned work queues, tickets, tasks, or requests and complete work within required timelines.ย 
  • Provide proactive customer service to client teams, deployment teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.ย 
  • Support new hire onboarding or peer training on basic logistics processes as directed.ย 
  • Recommend process improvements to improve safety, accuracy, efficiency, and service quality.ย 
  • Complete other duties as assigned in support of data center logistics operations.ย 

Required Qualificationsย 

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.ย 
  • 1+ year of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, receiving, shipping, asset lifecycle management, data center operations, or related field.ย 
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control best practices.ย 
  • Experience performing accurate transactions in inventory, ERP, WMS, ticketing, or asset management systems.ย 
  • Proficiency with Windows-based applications and common productivity tools.ย 
  • Ability to use computers, tablets, smartphones, barcode scanners, and related technology.ย 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.ย 
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow in a fast-paced environment.ย 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.ย 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.ย 
  • Ability to understand and comply with safety requirements and operational procedures.ย 
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.ย

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • 2+ years of logistics, warehouse, or data center operations experience.ย 
  • Prior experience working in a data center, hyperscale environment, technical warehouse, or secure client site.ย 
  • Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, box trucks, or other material handling equipment.ย 
  • Forklift, powered industrial truck, or material handling equipment certification.ย 
  • Experience supporting rack deployment, server deployment, asset lifecycle, or IT hardware logistics.ย 
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation, carrier coordination, RMA processing, or chain-of-custody procedures.ย 
  • Experience participating in physical inventories, cycle counts, or inventory audits.ย 
  • Basic knowledge of data center infrastructure components and terminology.ย 

Data Center Work Expectationsย 

  • Physical Environment: Work is performed in large-scale warehouse and data center environments, including loading docks, storage areas, staging areas, secure corridors, and white space/data halls. The role may require miles of walking per day across multiple buildings or operational zones.ย 
  • Safety Standards: Must consistently follow safety procedures for material movement, equipment operation, dock activity, lifting, load securement, and working around sensitive equipment. Specialists are expected to identify and escalate safety risks and support a safety-first culture.ย 
  • Shift Expectations: Must be available for assigned shifts and may be required to support overtime, weekends, holidays, or schedule changes based on deployment, shipment, or client service needs.ย 
  • Dress Code/PPE: Must wear required PPE and comply with site dress standards. PPE may include safety footwear, high-visibility vest, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, hard hat, or ESD protection depending on work location.ย 
  • Security Requirements: Must comply with data center access procedures, badge control, escort rules, secure material handling requirements, and confidentiality standards. Background check, site-specific security training, and client access approval may be required.ย 
  • Unique Working Conditions: Work may involve transporting equipment between warehouse and data center buildings, operating in active data halls, supporting deployment teams, and working around high-value, sensitive, or client-confidential equipment. Personal vehicle use between nearby buildings may be required where permitted, but not for transporting inventory unless specifically authorized.ย
