What is a full time live music job?

A full time live music job typically refers to a professional role where an individual earns their primary income by performing music live, either as a solo artist, band member, or ensemble player. These musicians may perform at concerts, clubs, festivals, weddings, corporate events, or on tours. In addition to performing, full time live musicians often spend time rehearsing, recording, networking, and sometimes teaching music. The job requires not only musical talent but also dedication, flexibility, and strong time management skills. It's a dynamic career path that offers creative satisfaction but can involve irregular hours and frequent travel.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time live musician?

To thrive as a Full-Time Live Musician, you need strong musical proficiency, performance experience, and often formal music education or training. Familiarity with audio equipment, sound systems, and music production software is typically essential. Excellent stage presence, adaptability, and networking abilities help musicians stand out and secure ongoing opportunities. These skills and qualities are crucial for delivering high-quality performances, building a loyal audience, and sustaining a successful music career.

What are some common challenges faced by full time live music professionals, and how can they be managed?

Full-time live music professionals often encounter challenges such as maintaining a consistent performance schedule, managing irregular income, and balancing creative work with administrative tasks like booking shows and promoting events. Adapting to a variety of venues and audiences also requires flexibility and strong interpersonal skills. Building a network of industry contacts, developing strong time-management habits, and staying up to date with technology for music promotion can help address these challenges and create more stability in your career.

Job description

Overview
FAYETTEVILLE, AR (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED): A tight-knit, loving family of six is seeking a full-time live-out House Manager/Nanny to support their household and help care for their four girls, ages 7, 6, 5, and 3. Mom is home and highly involved, and is looking for a true partner who can seamlessly integrate into her established systems, learn her organizational style, and help keep the household running at a high level.
This is a home-focused role. The ideal candidate is hyperorganized, thrives on staying ahead of the household's needs, and genuinely enjoys checking things off a list. They will work alongside mom as a team, supporting the flow of daily life rather than operating independently. A collaborative, go-with-it attitude and deep respect for mom's systems and structure are essential.
The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 7pm, guaranteeing 40 hours per week. Saturdays are full days in the fall, though the family is open to rotating Saturdays or flexing days during the week as needed. Sunday and Monday are off.
Household responsibilities include family and children's laundry, dry cleaning runs, house tidying and organization, vehicle care and cleaning for both the family and nanny vehicle, restocking and maintaining supplies, and general household projects as needed. Light food prep for the children such as cleaning and cutting fruit is expected, but heavy cooking for the children or family is not part of this role. The candidate should be comfortable assisting with teacher gifts, class parties, and other household tasks that align closely with mom's day-to-day without overstepping her boundaries.
On the childcare side, the nanny will support afternoon pickups and transportation to activities using the family vehicle, with full supervision and care during that time. The two eldest girls attend public elementary school, and the afternoon routine involves school pickup at 3:10pm and chauffeuring to after-school activities. The youngest two attend full-time preschool. The schedule is more fluid during the summer when all four girls are home before returning to a structured fall routine.
The girls each have their own personality and interests. The eldest is neat, structured, and loves to be read to. The 6-year-old is outgoing, social, and loves music. The 5-year-old is exploring her own world and interests. The youngest is three and full of personality. The older two have dance twice a week.
The family loves to travel and welcomes their nanny to join them. They are a Disney family and frequent Disney World and cruises, typically taking three to four week-long trips per year with long weekend excursions throughout. Travel is domestic and international travel. A valid passport is required, and candidates must be open to traveling with the family a few times per year both domestically and internationally. Working holidays may be required and will be compensated.
This is a full-time live-out role. Compensation is $30-35 gross per hour via payroll. Benefits include industry-standard 5 paid sick days, 10 PTO days, and a potential health insurance stipend for the right candidate. Start date is as soon as possible. Relocation assistance could be provided for the right candidate.
