Internal Position

Duration Full school year 

Reports to Assistant Principal 

Stipend $1,300 - payable per stipend schedule 

Summary 

The High School Literary Magazine sponsor is responsible for all aspects of the editorial and publishing process of the annual High School Literary Magazine. 

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the investment of additional time outside of his/her regular work schedule/hours to satisfactorily meet the expectations of the position. 

Essential Duties 

  • Identify and organize a team of student editors and assist them in the editorial and publication process.
  • Promote student participation in the club and provide communications and advertisements to students, staff, and families for involvement.
  • Establish and maintain regular meetings for the HS Literary Magazine club.
  • Promote student leadership in all aspects of the editing and publishing process.
  • Establish and maintain a timeline for student submissions, editing, and publishing.
  • Finalize all aspects of the magazine and publish and share it with students, families, and staff by the end of the school year.
  • Following Business Office procedures, process all invoices for payment. 

Qualifications 

  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Knowledge and experience with writing, proofreading, editing, and publishing.
  • Ability to promote student involvement in the editing and publishing process.
