What You Will Bring To This Role:
The Cook is responsible for ensuring quality of food for our hotel guests. In addition, he/she maintains consistent food preparation and plate presentation for our pool area and guests. The Springhill Suites - Seasonal Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and standards while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Line Cook will also be responsible for ensuring that all food items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to ensure freshness and quality.

Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
  • The cook is responsible for preparing the kitchen before the start of the shift including prepping food for service each day; and stocking the line, pantries or walk-in refrigerators/freezers.
  • They must make sure that all the supplies that will be needed are available and ready for use; this can include preparing items in advance, or performing simple tasks such as stocking the station with plates and bowls.
  • The cook is responsible for preparing the items requested from the kitchen. This requires working with other cooks in the kitchen to make sure that food is ready at the right time, in the right order so that it arrives at the customers table ready to eat and at the proper temperature.
  • The cook is responsible for cleaning the kitchen, and may be asked to help other with their stations; this means disposing of garbage, cleaning utensils, pots, and pans, and cleaning cooking surfaces.
  • Unload delivery trucks and store inventory correctly
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates must have at least one year of cooking experience in a full-service restaurant.
  • Must be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that includes evenings, nights, weekends and holiday.
  • Experience in preparing meals for all meal periods (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
  • Candidates can expect to: walk and stand for a full shift; pushing/pulling up to 50lbs; and lifting up to 50lbs.
