Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Marlborough Tavern is looking for an experienced cook in our kitchen, following our Executive Chef’s recipes and execution of the set menu.


Competitive pay offered starting at $20 per hour with opportunity for raise after 6 months of employment.


The job schedule available is full time and or part time.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays. 30-40 hours per week


Job Schedule:

Wednesday 2 pm - 8 pm

Thursday 2 pm - 8 pm

Friday 2 pm - 10 pm

Saturday 11 am - 10 pm

Sunday 11 am - 8 pm


We do also post our schedule at least two weeks in advance so you are able to plan your schedule with work and outside of work. And we offer a shift meal for candidates who work an 8-hour shift with the team.


Responsibilities

  • Help in the preparation, cooking and plating of all food menu items
  • Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise following a recipe.
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Participate in daily food Chef with proper food preparation
  • Be able to communicate well with the chef and co workers in the kitchen.
  • Comply with regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Line Cook
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Credible record of kitchen cooking
  • Familiar knife skills
  • Reliable Transportation and Being on Time for Scheduled Shifts.

  • 5 years cooking in a commercial kitchen
  • Strong cooking skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment
