Overview
Job Summary
A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a limited X-ray license in an ambulatory care setting typically combines clinical and administrative duties related to patient care, including performing X-rays within their scope of practice. This role involves assisting physicians with procedures, taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and managing patient flow, along with performing limited X-ray procedures.
Job Responsibilities
  • Greeting and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
  • Recording patient history and updating medical records.
  • Assisting with procedures, such as injections, wound care, and specimen collection.
  • Administering medications as directed by the physician.
  • Providing patient education and instructions.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized exam room.
  • Operating X-ray equipment and positioning patients for procedures.
  • Ensuring proper radiation safety protocols are followed.
  • Developing and maintaining X-ray films.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting X-ray equipment.
  • Scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
  • Maintaining patient records and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Preparing and maintaining medical supplies and equipment.
  • Answering phones and handling patient inquiries.

Experience
Minimum Required
Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in an ambulatory care environment
