Position Summary

The X-Ray Technician functions as a Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) with responsibility for operating X-Ray equipment for the purpose of diagnosing and treating patient disease/injury by the primary care provider. The BXMO will practice under the direct supervision and control of a licensed practitioner, only in that practitioner’s office.


Description of Primary Responsibilities


1) Responsible for patient care

a) Provide necessary medical services to patients of Palms Medical Group (PMG) within his/her scope of practice in accordance with stated policies, procedures and protocols of PMG and Florida State Statute 468.302.

b) Maintain the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with up-to-date documentation of services provided.

c) Exhibit professionalism when greeting and escorting patients to X-Ray suite.

d) Perform basic radiology procedures.

e) Provide patients with digital X-Ray discs if indicated.

2) Responsible for inventory management

a) Maintain knowledge of inventory procedures and submit any order requests to the VP of Business Continuity & Client Relations and designated Clinical Care Coordinator.

b) Maintain X-Ray suite, and order and restock radiological supplies.

c) Maintain responsibility for the overall operation of the X-Ray suite.

d) Maintain orderly and professional work areas.

3) Responsible for administrative duties

a) Maintain X-Ray tracking logs.

b) Observe and follow OSHA standards and PMG Infection Control/Safety protocol.

c) Promptly fax orders to Doctor’s Imaging Group along with patient encounter form before releasing the patient from the clinic.

d) Assist the Clinical Care Coordinator, VP of Practice Management with data collection as necessary.

e) Assist with audits, administer and collect surveys, and follow up with red charts as directed by the Clinical Care Coordinator.

f) Perform any other duty assigned by the Clinical Care Coordinator, VP of Practice Management or CEO to improve the efficiency of PMG.

4) Read and adhere to the Clinical Policy Manual.

Licenses & Certifications:

1) High School Diploma or Equivalent

2) Current Basic X-Ray Machine Operators License (BXMO) in the State of Florida

3) Minimum of one (1) year experience in Primary Care setting preferred

4) Current BLS (basic life support) Certification

5) Current CNA, CMA, LPN or RN
