Job description

Job descriptionA small law firm locates in Universal City. We're looking for a full-time legal assistant with a family law background. The legal assistant will be responsible for providing support to all clients involved in a case and organizing various forms, including court documents, discovery letters, motions, etc.

This position requires an individual who has experience working on family matters. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Detailed job duties include:

  • Assist in filing motions for divorce or custody proceedings as needed.
  • Prepare court reports on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare discovery materials (electronic files) that are used in trial cases.
  • Review evidence submitted at trial hearings and provide information regarding findings from trials.

Qualification

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a family law paraprofessional, with an emphasis on family law
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to learn quickly while maintaining the confidentiality
  • Self-starter who can prioritize tasks without being overwhelmed by deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
