How you'll contribute 

A Laboratory Manager who excels in this role:

  • Manage the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Assist with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manage staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
  • Perform and oversee scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
  • Determine and justify needs for system/equipment/supply purchases, monitor usage and oversee proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Assess the quality of patient care delivered and coordinate patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
  • May provide patient care when necessary.
  • Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).

What we're looking for 
Applicants should have an associate's degree from an accredited program. Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Basic life support health care provider (BLS-HCP)

  • ASCP or AMT
