Inventory Control Specialist
Position Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels across all divisions of the company, including Construction, Service, Residential & Commercial, Controls, and Piping. This role ensures materials, tools, and equipment are available when needed to minimize downtime and support efficient project execution across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for HVAC equipment, parts, piping materials, and controls components
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to support multiple divisions
  • Perform routine cycle counts and full physical inventory audits
  • Track and manage material usage across Construction, Service, Residential/Commercial, Controls, and Piping departments
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely ordering and cost-effective procurement of materials
  • Manage warehouse organization to ensure efficient storage, labeling, and accessibility of inventory
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality
  • Issue materials to field technicians and project teams with proper documentation and tracking
  • Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and recommend corrective actions
  • Utilize inventory management software/ERP systems to track inventory movements and generate reports
  • Collaborate with project managers, service managers, and field teams to forecast material needs
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards in warehouse operations
Qualifications
  • 25 years of inventory control experience (HVAC, construction, or mechanical contracting preferred)
  • Strong understanding of HVAC parts, piping systems, and mechanical equipment preferred
  • Experience with inventory management systems or ERP software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data tracking
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different departments
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
  • Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Work Environment
  • Combination of warehouse and office setting
  • May require lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and operating warehouse equipment
  • Regular interaction with field technicians, project managers, and vendors
