Inventory Control Specialist

Our client, a major fishing and seafood processing company, is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and ensure efficient inventory management practices at their Bridgeton, NJ area location. This role supports operations by minimizing inventory discrepancies, preventing stock shortages or overages, and improving overall supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels using inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Track inventory movement, including receiving, storage, and distribution.
  • Ensure proper documentation for inventory transactions.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to forecast inventory needs.
  • Implement and follow inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare inventory reports and provide analysis to management.
  • Must be able to occasionally travel to Cape May, NJ.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and resolve discrepancies.
