Job description

Overview

Provide audiological diagnostic evaluations, immittance testing, electrophysiological testing, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with hearing loss, tinnitus, and vestibular disorders. Patients may be inpatients in a hospital setting or outpatient facility and include pediatric, special needs, and adult populations. Supervise student clinicians or clinical rotations. Preceptor to surgical residents. Depending on clinical need, audiologist may be required to have a specialty in the following areas: Newborn diagnostic testing and electrophysiological testing. Pediatric diagnostic testing Electrophysiological testing: ENOG, ABR, ECOG, VNG, VEMP, intraoperative monitoring Vestibular evaluations and treatment Osseo integrated evaluations and fittings Cochlear implant evaluations, mapping, and aural rehabilitation/habilitation Hearing aid fitting and aural rehabilitation Tinnitus evaluation, treatment, and therapy.


Responsibilities
Administer appropriate audiological evaluations, including
special tests (i.e. behavioral audiometry, immittance ,
otoacoustic emissions, and electrophysiological), to
determine the patient's audiological or vestibular diagnosis.
 
Make recommendations and referrals based on clinical
impressions of patients test results.
 
Provide audiological evaluations to monitor the hearing of UF
employees working in potentially hazardous noise
environments (ex. Emergency Department and Trauma One).
 
Provides excellent customer service for
patients/families/representatives and other members of the
treatment team.
 
Participates as an active care team member in the
coordination of patient care.
 
Treatment, recommendations, and referrals based on
audiological test results, clinical diagnosis, and
rehabilitation/habitative needs.
 
Supervise assigned staff.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

1 year-post-clinical fellowship year - preferred

3 years - Clinical residency post-doctoral education - preferred

Additional Details:

Applicant must be a licensed Audiologist or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida Special consideration for audiologists that hold a Master's degree in audiology with extensive experience

Completion of clinical fellowship year

Education: Masters Audiology required or Doctorate Audiology - required

Supervises: 1- 2 Audiologist
