RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Senior Interoperability Engineer to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together. As a Senior Interoperability Engineer, you are responsible for leading the design and implementation of data integration that efficiently process and transform raw data into usable formats. This involves working with various data sources, such as databases, APIs, and streaming platforms, and applying data integration and transformation techniques to ensure data quality and consistency. Furthermore, the Senior Interoperability Engineer will ensure the security and privacy of data. This includes implementing access controls, encryption mechanisms, and data anonymization techniques to protect sensitive information and comply with data protection regulations.
This is a full-time salaried position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(60%) Interface Development
  • Builds data integration: Create, maintain, and optimize workloads from development to production for specific use cases.
  • Drive automation of most-common, repeatable data preparation and integration tasks to minimize reducing defects and improving productivity.
  • Develops and enforces data integration, data quality, and change management standards across all development initiatives according to the organization's Enterprise information services policies as well as best practices.
  • Provides technical expertise working with customers, external partners, analysts and Business Users to implement complex and varied functional specifications into technical designs.
  • Leads the team in monitoring and tuning code to assure optimal availability, performance, and utilization of resources.
  • Executes and oversees the analysis and remediation of root causes, including deficiencies in technology, process, or resource capabilities.
  • Performs gap analysis and recommends best-in-class options for improvements to optimizes interfaces performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring smooth data exchange.
  • Leads all administrative tasks for the interoperability teams such systems including backup & recovery, monitoring, health maintenance, user & security administration, performance optimization, diagnostics.
  • Mentor junior interoperability engineers

(35%) Interface Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Monitors the IT Service Management system and assigns new incidents or service requests to appropriate resources based on skill set and availability.
  • Leads daily review of interface or data integration issues, support requests; and ensures the accuracy and integrity of data transmitted.
  • Provides additional technical assistance, performs root cause analysis and recommends solutions to the assigned Interoperability resource or resolve data issues as needed.
  • Ensures the Interoperability team provides timely resolutions to minimize disruptions and adheres to defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Provides off hours support for critical maintenance or problem resolution and is scheduled for rotational on-call support.

(5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of experience in data integration, ETL processes, and interface development required (e.g., HL7 v2.x, v3.x, HL7 FHIR, etc.).
  • 3 years of experience with analyzing client IT environments and messaging capabilities and finding appropriate solutions to implement data interfaces using Corepoint, Mirth or other data integration engines.

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with API design and development
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline a plus
  • Healthcare experience
  • Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) expertise, such as setting up FHIR servers and an understanding of Clinical Query Language (CQL) a plus
