What are the 4 types of influencers?

In the context of a full-time influence role, the four main types of influencers are celebrities, macro-influencers, micro-influencers, and nano-influencers. Each type varies in follower count, reach, and engagement level, requiring different strategies and content approaches. Understanding these categories helps influence professionals tailor campaigns effectively.

What jobs do influencers have?

Influencers typically work as content creators, social media managers, brand ambassadors, or digital marketers. They produce content for platforms like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, or blogs, often requiring skills in photography, video editing, and audience engagement. Many influencers also collaborate with brands for sponsored posts and marketing campaigns.

What are the top 10 influencer niches?

Full Time Influencers often focus on niches such as fashion, beauty, fitness, gaming, travel, food, technology, lifestyle, parenting, and health. Success in these areas typically requires strong content creation skills, audience engagement, and platform-specific strategies. These niches are popular due to high audience interest and monetization opportunities through brand partnerships and sponsorships.

How much do influencers get paid?

Influencers' earnings vary widely based on their follower count, niche, and engagement rates. Micro-influencers may earn a few hundred dollars per sponsored post, while top-tier influencers can make thousands or even millions annually through brand partnerships and content monetization. Compensation often depends on negotiation, platform, and content quality.

Job description

Location: New York City
Contract Type: Full-time
About Us
The Daily Mail reaches over a billion people globally every month. Renowned for its agenda-setting exclusives, breaking news, incisive commentary, and in-depth investigations, we deliver a unique editorial blend spanning showbiz, royals, lifestyle, health, sport, money, and more.
Our extensive reach, influence, and reader loyalty make it a premium destination for more than 300,000 digital subscribers across the UK, US, Australia, and beyond. The Daily Mail also maintains a powerful presence across social media, engaging more than 150 million followers and delivering more than 6 billion video views each month across platforms including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat.
About The role
The Daily Mail is looking for its first dedicated Influencer Correspondent - a trailblazing reporter to own the fastest-growing beat in modern journalism. Influencer culture has moved from the margins to the mainstream. Creators shape politics, drive billion-dollar commerce, and generate the stories everyone is talking about. We want a journalist who understands this world from the inside out and can translate it for the biggest English-language newspaper audience on the planet.
You will break news and write features across the full influencer and creator economy; from the TikTok star whose sponsored post just sparked a boycott to the YouTube millionaire whose private life is unravelling in real time. You will spot stories others miss: a single deleted comment, a telling crop in a brand photo, a subtle shift in follower count.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will cultivate a deep network of sources - agents, managers, platform insiders, and the creators themselves - and use them to break stories first and tell them best.
You will be expected to pitch stories daily, working with a team of senior editors to flesh out ideas then write thoughtful and informative features for our growing audience.
Who you are
The ideal candidate lives obsessively online, has a journalist's instincts and a creator's fluency. We are looking for a skilled interviewer and talented feature writer who will draw even the most uninitiated reader into the world of influencers.
  • Proven experience as a feature writer and/or reporter, ideally covering culture, entertainment, or digital media
  • Exceptional interviewing skills and a track record of landing exclusive access
  • An established or demonstrably buildable network of sources in the creator economy
  • Deep, active knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms
  • The instinct to find a story in a post, a comment, or even in a silence.

Salary & Benefits
We offer a competitive salary package in the range of $70,000- $80,000 depending on experience, excellent staff benefits (healthcare, optical, dental, 401K) and a generous PTO allowance.
Other Information
Daily Mail is a 24-hour newsroom and operates a seven-day working week. Applicants will be required to cover a variety of shifts during the operational hours of the newsroom (daily from 6am through 2am).
Our Commitment
We are committed to increasing diversity and maintaining an inclusive workplace culture. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability.
We are Disability Confident Committed. Please let us know if you require any recruitment documentation in other formats or if you require reasonable adjustments to be made during the recruitment process. Please be assured that any such information will be held separately to your recruitment application and will not be considered as part of the selection process
