Job description

  • Performing ultrasound procedures to obtain high-quality images for accurate diagnosis, including abdominal, obstetric, vascular, and cardiac imaging.
  • Preparing patients for procedures by explaining the process, applying ultrasound gel, and ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Operating and maintaining equipment, including calibration, troubleshooting, and ensuring a sterile imaging environment.
  • Assessing image quality in real-time and making adjustments to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
  • Collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams by presenting images, assisting in interpretation, and documenting findings.
  • Administrative tasks, such as documenting patient history, managing imaging records, and coordinating with the medical department.
  • Work Environment
    Sonographers work in a correctional setting. This role requires standing for long periods, lifting patients or equipment, and adapting to rotating shifts, days, weekends, and on-call duties.

    Successful ultrasound technicians combine technical and interpersonal skills:
