We are seeking an HR Generalist to support all aspects of the employee lifecycle while helping modernize HR processes in a growing, collaborative organization. This role partners closely with leadership to support recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll coordination, policy administration, and continuous process improvement.

SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the VP/COO, the Human Resources (HR) Generalist serves as administrator for several critical human resources functions and workforce management, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, and employee records. The ideal candidate will serve at the point of contact for all employees and workers and assists the company in enforcing and maintaining compliance to ever-changing employment and payroll laws. Below is a list of the HR Generalist essential duties and responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance.
· Responsible for timely and accurate processing of payroll in accordance with applicable employment, payroll, and tax laws using the Paychex Payroll system. Compiles payroll data such as hours worked for Time & Attendance (Paychex Flex) and other records. Prepares computer input forms, enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
· Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of the payroll. Records changes affecting net wages, such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records. Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments. Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions. Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
· Records, maintains, and updates employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason in the appropriate employee databases.
· Responsible for full-cycle recruitment process by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and ensuring reference and background checks are completed.
· Organizes new employee records and supports the onboarding process for new hires, as well as manages the termination process for departing employees, which includes preparing final paychecks and related documentation.
· Verifies 1-9 documentation and maintains 1-9 records in accordance to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
· Assists in benefits administration, including Worker’s Compensation to include claims resolution, change reporting, and approving invoices for payment. Assists with the distribution of benefits packages and forms, collects enrollment applications, and processes enrollment/change/termination requests.
· Maintains Human Resource Information System (Paychex Flex) records and generates reports from database as needed. Helps to maintain company organization charts and employee directory. Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files. Assists or prepares correspondence and processes mail, as needed.
· Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all employees, and assists company with various research projects and/or special projects.
· Periodically reviews vendor prices and service quality, and performs price and quality comparisons to ensure that the Company is receiving the best price and quality from vendors and suppliers. Identifies top vendors and makes recommendations to the VP/COO; based on research, price and quality analyses.
· Reconciles invoices for purchases and maintenance contracts, and submits to Accounts Payable in a timely manner.
· Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the Company’s discretion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
· 3+ years of experience in HR roles, with exposure to various HR Functions and/or related fields.
· Strong understanding of HR laws, Federal & State regulations, and best practices.
· Clear written and verbal communications, excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and HRIS software, preferably Paychex.
Ideally we are looking for a full-time, in office position. We are open to an experienced HR professional seeking a flexible/reduced schedule or alternative scheduling arrangements for the right candidate.
