Floral Design Specialist

Location: Miami, FL
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time | Exempt
Travel: Approximately 50%

We are seeking an experienced Floral Design Specialist to provide hands-on floral expertise, training, coaching, and support to customer floral teams.

This position is ideal for a highly skilled floral professional who enjoys not only creating beautiful floral designs, but also teaching others, improving merchandising standards, and building strong customer relationships.

The Floral Design Specialist will travel regularly to customer locations throughout the United States to provide onsite training and support. Occasional international travel, including Colombia, may also be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on training and coaching to floral teams at customer locations.
  • Train teams on floral design techniques, flower care, merchandising, product handling, sanitation, and best practices.
  • Create professional floral arrangements and displays for customer presentations, meetings, marketing initiatives, and special projects.
  • Demonstrate merchandising and display techniques designed to improve product presentation and sales.
  • Support seasonal programs, holidays, promotions, and new store openings.
  • Develop training materials, demonstrations, educational resources, and best-practice guides.
  • Visit customer locations and prepare reports with observations, opportunities, and recommended action plans.
  • Share customer feedback and field observations with internal teams.
  • Stay current on floral trends, design techniques, merchandising standards, and industry innovations.
  • Represent the organization professionally during customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.

Requirements

  • Certified Floral Designer (CFD) certification REQUIRED.
  • 5+ years of professional floral design experience REQUIRED.
  • AIFD (Accredited in Floral Design) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in supermarkets, retail floral departments, flower shops, wholesale floral, weddings/events, or similar floral environments.
  • Previous experience training, coaching, teaching, or conducting workshops.
  • Strong floral design and merchandising knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and traveling frequently.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States and occasionally internationally.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle flowers, floral tools, and display materials.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated floral coolers, retail stores, offices, and distribution center environments.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on seasonal and business needs.

Travel

Approximately 50% travel required.

Regular travel to customer locations throughout the United States is an essential part of this position. Occasional international travel may also be required.

Compensation:
$60,000 per year
