Overview
Volks Resources is hiring experienced Fiber Splicers for a major fiber optic infrastructure project in Abilene, TX. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing team working on high-impact telecom deployments.
We are looking for skilled professionals who can hit the ground running and contribute to a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform fiber splicing for both aerial and underground networks
  • Conduct fiber testing, troubleshooting, and OTDR analysis
  • Read and interpret splice diagrams and network plans
  • Ensure all work meets client quality and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation of splicing activities
  • Work closely with field and project management teams
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Fiber Splicer
  • Experience with single-mode fiber splicing and testing
  • Ability to operate fusion splicing equipment and OTDR
  • Familiarity with aerial and underground fiber environments
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience on large-scale fiber deployment projects
  • AT&T, Spectrum, or similar telecom project experience
  • Certifications in fiber optics (a plus)
