Job description

Columbus REALTORS® is hiring: Events Manager

Do you enjoy bringing complex events to life from initial planning through successful execution? Are you energized by managing details, supporting members, and creating professional experiences that reflect an organization’s mission?

If you're looking for an opportunity to shape a diverse event portfolio while bringing structure, creativity, and exceptional service to a respected professional association, this could be the role for you!

Columbus REALTORS® is seeking an Events Manager to direct the planning and production of the Association’s on-site and off-site events. In this role, you will coordinate event timelines, budgets, vendors, logistics, contracts, and day-of operations while serving as a staff liaison to assigned committees and maintaining strong relationships with members and stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly organized, customer-focused professional who thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership, communicates with confidence and professionalism, and can manage multiple priorities while remaining flexible when event details change.

Join Columbus REALTORS® and become part of a professional trade association serving more than 9,400 real estate professionals across Central Ohio. You'll have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas to a varied annual event calendar while working alongside engaged members, volunteer leaders, staff, and industry partners in a friendly, supportive environment that values creativity, professional development, and work-life balance.

Responsibilities include:

· Lead the planning and production of Columbus REALTORS® events from initial concept through post-event evaluation.
· Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Association’s event calendar and develop timelines, schedules, and work plans to meet event needs and deadlines.
· Serve as staff liaison to one or more Columbus REALTORS® committees, attend committee meetings as needed, and provide event-related feedback and recommendations.
· Create and monitor event budgets and, where applicable, fundraising goals; evaluate budget versus actual results at the conclusion of each event.
· Manage on-site and off-site events, including occasional evening and after-hours events, while maintaining a positive and professional member experience.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities representatives, presenters, guests, members, vendors, and other event stakeholders to ensure event goals are met.
· Coordinate all event logistics, including setup, registration, catering, audiovisual services, room layouts, staffing, and other operational needs.
· Oversee contracts, permits, staffing, and event resources; conduct vendor negotiations and monitor deliverables for venues, catering, and other event services.
· Provide senior leadership with contracts and other event materials in a timely manner for review and approval.
· Work with senior leadership to confirm appropriate insurance coverage is in place and reviewed in advance of events.
· Provide guidance and supervision to staff during events while managing resources responsibly, efficiently, and with accountability.
· Collaborate with the communications and marketing teams to develop and implement creative and effective event marketing strategies.
· Review post-event evaluations, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend new ideas that keep events fresh, relevant, and valuable to members.
· Coordinate and serve as the primary point of contact for meeting and training room rentals and reservations at Columbus REALTORS® headquarters.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

· A thorough understanding of event planning and production is required.
· A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
· A Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is a plus.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, along with the ability to learn and adapt to event-planning and association management software.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to communicate persuasively and professionally with members, vendors, presenters, and staff.
· The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple events, priorities, and deadlines.
· Knowledge of event budgeting, vendor coordination, contract review, and negotiation is preferred.

Experience:

We are seeking a candidate with 3+ years of experience leading events. The ideal candidate has managed event budgets, coordinated event personnel and vendor teams, handled contracts, and worked across complex schedules. A background managing an annual portfolio that includes both large events serving approximately 300–1,000 attendees and small- to mid-sized events serving approximately 20–200 attendees is strongly preferred.

Compensation:

This is a full-time, hourly position. The anticipated annual compensation is $65,000-$70,000, depending on experience. The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan with employer match.

To arrange a confidential interview, submit a résumé by responding to this posting or emailing Amanda at Amanda@successfulhiring.com.
