Position Overview
Serves as the subject matter expert and primary instructor for Air Advisor TTPs, advisory operations, and leadership competencies. Provides instruction on media relations (including mock interviews), operating environment analysis, mission planning, key leader engagement, and country security forces assessment. Cross-trained to support instruction in other disciplines as directed by the Site Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Deployed as a Military Advisor, PAS, RAS, FAO, PRT member, attaché, SCO, or equivalent with military advisory experience
  • Completed Air Command and Staff College, Senior NCO Academy, or sister service equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and evaluations on Air Advisor TTPs, advisory operations, and leadership competencies
  • Teach subjects including AA Roles & Responsibilities, Key Traits for Advisors, Advisory Operations, Instructor Fundamentals, Mission Planning, Interpreter Application, Fundamentals of Advising, Cybersecurity Policies, Information & Intelligence in Support of AA Activities, Public Affairs/Media Relations, Area Study/Mission Analysis, Capabilities Based Assessment, AOR Update/Threat Brief, OPSEC/CI Awareness, Strategic Agility, Key Leader Engagement, Country Security Forces Assessment, Mission Operations, and Leader/Influence Competencies
  • Provide instruction on media relations including mock interviews and tape editing for classroom playback
  • Provide instruction on fundamentals of conducting an operating environment analysis
  • Provide mission-specific task information/analysis as required
  • Liaison with 6 SOS, 423 MTS TTP Flight, Air Force Geographic Component Commands, MAJCOMs, and other advisor organizations
  • Assist the 423 MTS in writing and updating Air Advisor TTPs
  • Maintain satisfactory or above on Government-administered instructor evaluations
  • Support cross-training by teaching lessons in other disciplines as directed by the Site Manager

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous assignment to an advisory unit (e.g., MSAS, 6 SOS, or equivalent)
  • Experience as an observer/controller/evaluator for military exercises

Work Environment & Conditions
  • Primary location: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), New Jersey. Contract may transition to other CONUS locations.
  • Normal duty hours: 0730-1630, Monday-Friday. Duty days may extend to 10 hours and include evenings, weekends, and holidays to support mission requirements.
  • Platform instruction normally does not exceed 6 hours per day.
  • May require OCONUS travel to PACOM, EUCOM, SOUTHCOM, AFRICOM, and CENTCOM (non-combat areas) as part of Mobile Training Teams (MTTs). Valid passport required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
