Location: Atlantic & Cumberland Counties, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-3:30 PM

Easterseals New Jersey is seeking a passionate Employment Specialist / Job Coach to support individuals with disabilities in achieving meaningful, competitive employment. This role combines job coaching, career counseling, workforce development, case management, community outreach, and job development to help individuals reach their employment goals and maintain long-term success in the workplace.

What You'll Do
  • Develop relationships with local businesses, employers, staffing agencies, and community organizations to create employment opportunities.
  • Conduct job development, business outreach, networking, and employer engagement activities.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities in identifying career goals and developing individualized employment plans.
  • Provide career coaching, vocational support, and workforce readiness training.
  • Match job seekers with employment opportunities based on skills, interests, and career objectives.
  • Provide job coaching, workplace training, and ongoing employment support to help individuals maintain successful employment.
  • Support participants in developing professional communication, workplace etiquette, interviewing, and other job-readiness skills.
  • Complete assessments, intake documentation, progress notes, and case management activities.
  • Collaborate with vocational rehabilitation agencies, referral sources, schools, employers, and community partners.
  • Attend community events, job fairs, networking opportunities, and outreach activities to increase program visibility and referrals.

Education & Experience
One of the following is required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related field and 1+ year of experience with the IDD population; OR
  • Associate Degree in a Human Services or rehabilitation-related field and 2+ years of experience with the IDD population; OR
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of experience with the IDD population.

Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with employer outreach, job placement, workforce development, sales, recruiting, marketing, or community engagement preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and networking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to travel throughout Atlantic and Cumberland Counties to meet with consumers, employers, and community partners.
