Position Title: Senior Business Intelligence / Analytics Developer (Epic Cogito)
Location: Remote

Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to play a key role in delivering enterprise reporting and analytics solutions within a healthcare, Epic?centric analytics environment. This position partners closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to transform complex data into meaningful insights that support decision?making across the organization.
In this role, you will contribute across the full business intelligence development lifecycle, from requirements discovery through design, development, deployment, and ongoing optimization of analytics solutions. You will serve as a senior technical contributor, applying deep SQL expertise and Epic Cogito knowledge, while also mentoring and supporting less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and contribute to all phases of the BI development lifecycle, including business requirements gathering, data analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, scheduling, and technical documentation.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using Enterprise Data Warehouse and Epic Cogito tools.
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to understand data meaning, clinical workflows, and analytics use cases across the healthcare enterprise.
  • Perform data analysis, validation, and reconciliation to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and usability for downstream reporting and analytics.
  • Serve as a senior contributor in an Epic Cogito analytics environment, supporting Clarity and Caboodle data models and enterprise reporting needs.
  • Design and develop analytics solutions using non?Epic platforms, including Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, when required, while applying consistent BI standards and best practices.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures, identifying opportunities for performance improvement and scalability.
  • Contribute to BI standards, best practices, and technical decision?making, and support mentorship and knowledge sharing within the analytics team.
  • Research emerging data warehouse and analytics technologies and assess their viability for enterprise adoption.

Required Skills / Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (required; work experience may not substitute).
  • 6+ years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics development, or data warehousing.
  • Strong SQL development expertise, including complex query design, optimization, and performance tuning (SQL Server / SSMS required).
  • Advanced experience with Epic Cogito, including Clarity and Caboodle data models.
  • Epic Cogito Fundamentals certification (required); additional Cogito certifications preferred.
  • Experience developing enterprise analytics in healthcare environments, with strong understanding of clinical and operational data.
  • Familiarity with SAP BusinessObjects, PowerInsight EDW, and healthcare reporting ecosystems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem?solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non?technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently on complex initiatives while contributing as a collaborative team member.
