Overview
TRC is seeking an Energy Engineer to support Strategic Energy Management (SEM) programs throughout the Pacific Northwest. This role combines energy analysis, field assessments, customer engagement, problem solving, and project support to help commercial and industrial customers identify and implement energy-saving opportunities.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct energy assessments at commercial and/or industrial facilities.
  • Identify low-cost and no-cost energy-saving measures.
  • Analyze utility data and identify opportunities.
  • Review Building Automation System (BAS), controls, and operating practices.
  • Calculate energy and cost savings.
  • Support clients in evaluating improvements and control strategies.
  • Develop reports and recommendations.
  • Assist implementation and tracking.
  • Support benchmarking, statistical analysis, and energy modeling.
  • Perform field measurements and data collection.
  • Develop and deliver training materials.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy management, facilities management, construction management, environmental sciences, or related technical field, or equivalent experience. Relevant internships, co-ops, military, and professional/field experience considered. Strong analytical, communication, Excel, and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
Preferred Qualification:
Experience with energy efficiency, sustainability, commissioning, building performance, or industrial operations. Understanding of HVAC or industrial process systems. Experience with BAS, industrial controls, or SCADA. Familiarity with M&V, benchmarking, statistical analysis, or regression modeling. CEM or CMVP certification, or interest in obtaining certification.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
