ER Physician Opportunity:

Medical Center currently has a need for a full-time Emergency Room Physician to work in its 24-hour ED which sees about 16,000 visits per year, including the Walk-In Clinic. The ED is a Level II trauma center, and sees a wide variety of cases; however, head and neck cases are transported to a tertiary center. The physicians and nursing staff are specially trained in emergency medicine. The department has one trauma room and 11 exam rooms; two Walk-In Care rooms with easy access to all diagnostic testing needs. Although patients are seen in order of severity of illness, a PA or Nurse Practitioner in the Walk-In Clinic may see patients with less urgent needs.

The ER physicians typically develop their own shifts, and generally work three shifts one week and four the next. In addition to working a full-time schedule, Medical Center can offer a flexible staffing model, such as per diem, and part-time; working site visits are welcomed.

Currently, there are three full-time, board certified ER physicians.

The ER physicians are employees of the hospital and are paid on an hourly basis, negotiable based on experience. The hospital will pay a portion of the health insurance for the physician and will pay the full amount of malpractice insurance. Additionally, the hospital will pay up to $600/year for licensing and subscriptions for their practice. The candidate will receive six weeks for vacation, CME, sick and holiday time to be used on an annual basis. The hospital will also provide CME of up to $2,500 per year and relocation assistance. Education loan repayment is paid in six-month increments and is typically spread out over five years.
