Full-time elevator technicians often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues, responding to emergency service calls, and ensuring compliance with strict safety regulations. These challenges require strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and staying up to date with evolving technologies and codes. Elevator Service & Modernization Sales Representative

Full-Time • Raleigh, NC (In-Person) • Local Travel Required

About Godwin Elevator Company

Godwin Elevator Company, Inc. is a family-owned, Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) founded in 1982 and headquartered in Raleigh, NC. For over 40 years, we have built our reputation on responsive, expert service—specializing in commercial elevator maintenance, repair, and modernization, as well as vertical platform lift (VPL) installation for commercial and residential clients. As a GSA contract holder, we also serve federal government facilities throughout the region.

Our service territory spans the greater Triangle area and Fayetteville corridor, including Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Harnett, Lee, and Cumberland counties. We pride ourselves on our 24/7/365 emergency response capability and the long-term relationships we maintain with clients who trust us to keep their buildings safe and accessible.

If you want to join a team where your contributions are recognized, where leadership is accessible, and where you’re selling a service you can be proud of—this role is for you.

Position Overview

We are looking for a driven and relationship-oriented Elevator Service & Modernization Sales Representative to help us grow our client base across our service territory. Your primary focus will be selling elevator service agreements and modernization projects to new customers. This is a consultative sales role built on earning the trust of building owners, property managers, and facility directors—not a transactional, high-volume position. You will be the face of Godwin Elevator to new and prospective clients, identifying their needs and matching them with the right maintenance, modernization, or VPL solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Sell elevator service agreements and modernization projects to new customers—the primary focus of this role.

• Develop and nurture relationships with property managers, building owners, facility directors, architects, and contractors, and generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and lead generation across the Triangle region and Fayetteville corridor.

• Create and deliver compelling, tailored sales proposals and presentations that address each client’s specific needs and budget.

• Manage and grow existing accounts by proactively identifying opportunities for service agreement renewals, modernization projects, and VPL installations.

• Collaborate with our operations and service teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and client satisfaction from sale through completion.

• Conduct site visits and equipment surveys to accurately scope maintenance, repair, modernization, and VPL installation proposals.

• Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work with our operations team to ensure accurate, profitable bids.

• Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and advancements in elevator and lift technology.

• Achieve and exceed sales targets and performance metrics.

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions in CRM software.

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years of B2B sales experience in a technical field such as elevators, mechanical systems, HVAC, commercial construction, or facilities services.

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and managing a territory independently.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to learn and speak knowledgeably about elevator and lift systems (formal training provided for the right candidate).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce or similar).

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (company vehicle provided).

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred

• Direct experience in elevator industry sales or service.

• Ability to read architectural drawings or construction specifications.

• Experience selling to property management companies, building owners, or facility directors.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (not required).

Why Join Godwin Elevator?

Competitive base salary — $55,000–$75,000 depending on experience, plus uncapped performance-based commission across our full range of service agreements, modernization projects, and VPL installations.

Company vehicle — provided for travel throughout your sales territory.

Comprehensive benefits package — including health coverage and a 401(k) retirement plan with company match.

Real career growth — in a stable, established company—not a revolving door. We invest in our people for the long term.

Direct access to leadership — in a family-owned environment where your voice is heard and your results are recognized.

Industry training and support — to ensure you are equipped to confidently represent our products and services.

Meaningful work — helping clients keep their buildings safe and accessible for the people who use them every day.

Location & Travel

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Raleigh, NC. Local travel is required throughout our service territory, which spans the Triangle region (Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Harnett, Lee, and Cumberland counties) and the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg corridor.
