Lower Elementary TeacherSummary

The Lower Elementary Teacher supports a joyful, structured, and purposeful classroom culture where all students, regardless of ability, feel a sense of belonging and are empowered to succeed. The teacher delivers standards-aligned math instruction, facilitates meaningful learning experiences, and builds authentic relationships with students to foster their academic growth and social-emotional development. The Lower Elementary Teacher plays a key role in implementing the school's vision for equity and excellence, ensuring all students achieve at high levels and embody the school's core values of practice, service, and purpose. The Lower Elementary Teacher reports to the Assistant Principal of Instruction and collaborates with the school team to create a positive and adaptive learning environment.

Responsibilities & Duties

Deliver Engaging Instruction:

  • Plan and teach daily core content lessons aligned with state standards and the school's curriculum.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love for mathematics.

Support Student Growth and Achievement:

  • Analyze student data to inform instruction and track progress toward academic goals.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide targeted support to meet the needs of all learners, including students requiring additional challenges or interventions.
  • Celebrate student achievements and encourage perseverance.

Create a Positive Classroom Culture:

  • Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment that reflects the school's core values.
  • Use effective classroom management strategies to promote respect, empathy, and collaboration among students.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification (or eligibility for certification).
  • At least one year of teaching experience preferred, with demonstrated success in improving student outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics content and pedagogy.
