About the Employer
The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) is a service agency supporting the county's 23 school districts that serve nearly 430,000 students. RCOE provides administrative support to districts, leads programs for preschool, special education, pregnant minor, corrections, migrant, and vocational students, and offers professional training, support and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff throughout Riverside County.
Job Summary
The purpose of the CTE Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) Instructor is to provide students with instruction and training in the understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, and become familiar with the tools and equipment associated with HVAC as well as to prepare students for entry-level employment in the HVAC industry. Course covers theory of refrigeration evacuation and charging methods; tools, materials, and equipment; components; electric circuits and controls; installation of HVAC systems; electrical motors; schematic wiring diagrams and HVAC blueprints; heating, ventilation, and heat pumps; and diagnosis of HVAC problems using meters. May require job development and placement of students in the local business communities for worksite training. This position is designated as a certificated teaching position and is under the supervision of a program principal. The position may supervise related support staff as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Credential Copy (Possession of, or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid California Designated Subjects Vocational or Career Technical Education Teaching Credential for the subject to be taught is required. (Refer to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing pamphlet for: Career Technical Education Designated Subjects Teaching Credentials)
  • Letter of Introduction (Letter must be specific to the position for which you are applying)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the recruitment closing date. One letter from a supervisor is preferred.)
