The Opportunity:
As a Custodian 3 for Auxiliary Facilities Services, you will perform custodial duties under general supervision to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and care of your assigned areas. In this role, you will lead and support assigned Custodians by providing instruction, training, and assistance to ensure departmental cleaning standards are consistently met. You will also assist the supervisor as needed and may participate in the interview and selection process for new employees, conduct staff training, assign and schedule work, respond to leave requests, provide input for annual performance evaluations, and recommend corrective or disciplinary actions when appropriate.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,485 to $4,633 | Range 38 Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
  • Physical ability to do required work and one year experience in housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance, or custodial work OR one year experience as a Lead; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 months experience leading or directing the work of others.
  • Experience with Housing and Dining Services.
  • One year of custodial experience in an educational or commercial setting.
