Claims Investigator - Desktop
Remote
Immediate need for a Claims Investigator - Desktop within the largest worldwide investigative solutions company. Join Command Investigations as it continues its expansion into all areas of investigations, allowing continual growth for its employees.
Command Claims Investigators - Desktop are tasked with investigating insurance claims filed for various coverage, including workers' compensation, general liability, property and casualty, disability, and life and health care. Investigators are to be able to complete a detailed, comprehensive report of daily activities, strategize cases and make professional recommendations to clients for additional investigative tasks, process evidence while maintaining the chain of custody (COC), submit updates and reports through the companies' management system, conduct social media and background checks utilizing internet searches, courthouse records, conduct virtual/telephonic interviews and provide courtroom testimony when needed. Investigators must be familiar with insurance fraud, common fraud schemes, and various ways to report fraud at the state and local levels. Investigators should be able to work varied/irregular hours and days. Claims Investigator - Desktop will be required to work within various computer systems and programs, both internal of Command and its external client systems. This position offers opportunities for both professional and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include essential functions of positions assigned to this classification. Depending on assignment, the employee may perform a combination of some or all the following duties:
  • Ability to produce a client ready report.
  • Submit daily status updates through the company management system.
  • Update clients verbally (per special handling instructions)
  • Reviewing case files daily for any new information/due dates
  • Conduct thorough Interviews, follow tasks as instructed, research records as needed and prepare a clear, concise, comprehensive written report within 24 hrs. or less from completed assignment.
  • Manage individual expenses and submit timely.
  • Daily communication with Case Manager
  • Frequently checking email/voicemail via company phone or home computer and responding timely

Requirements
Requirements:
  • Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Private Investigator
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations related to insurance and insurance fraud.
  • Multitasking/Time management skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Able to meet deadlines/Rush file handling.
  • Customer service skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Strong moral and work ethics
  • Extensive computer skills/Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Possess or willing to purchase a computer with a Windows Operating System with access to Microsoft Word and other necessary equipment for the position.

Educational/Experience Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
  • Experience as a Private Investigator or detective
  • Military or Law Enforcement background
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance law and underwriting
  • Self-starter who holds themselves accountable for results and performance
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Ability to adapt and work under stressful and sensitive situations
  • Can type 50 words or more a minute
