Job Description
The New York City Business Integrity Commission (BIC) is a regulatory and law enforcement agency with jurisdiction over the trade waste industry and the City's public wholesale markets. Businesses seeking to operate in these industries within the City of New York must, by law, apply to BIC and be approved by BIC for the requisite license or registration. BIC's goals include: to keep industries free of organized crime and other forms of corruption; to ensure that regulated businesses are able to compete fairly; that customers receive equitable treatment, and that regulated businesses do not present a harm to public safety and conduct their affairs with honesty and integrity.
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Investigations, the Investigator will be responsible for conducting truck inspections and enforcing all applicable BIC regulations governing the trade waste industry. This position is heavily focused on street enforcement and requires extensive fieldwork, including stopping commercial vehicles, conducting inspections, examining documentation, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
In this role the Investigator will also handle various investigations including but not limited to theft and customer complaints. The Investigator will be responsible for generating various reports on all investigations and documenting any vehicle inspection in a Salesforce database.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
