The Digital Accessibility Coordinator is a 12-month, full-time position responsible for supporting institutional compliance with ADA Title II and WCAG 2.1 AA standards across digital academic content and instructional technologies. This role focuses on coordinating accessibility practices, assisting with digital content implementation, and providing faculty support to help ensure that students have equitable access to learning materials and activities. The Coordinator works with faculty, instructional designers, academic leadership, and campus partners to help embed accessibility into course design and delivery, support accessible workflows in the learning management system (LMS), and assist with training and remediation efforts.

This position is on site, no remote option.

Essential Duties:

• Support institutional compliance with ADA Title II, WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and related digital accessibility standards for academic content and instructional technologies

• Collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, Digital Learning staff, and campus partners to design, review, revise, and remediate accessible course materials in Canvas and other learning platforms

• Provide guidance and consultation on accessible instructional practices, including document structure, alternative text, readable tables, color contrast, keyboard navigation, captions, transcripts, and audio description

• Assist with converting instructional materials into accessible formats, including Canvas pages, Word/PDF documents, slide decks, images, audio, video, and other student-facing course content

• Develop and deliver training, workshops, resources, checklists, examples, and faculty-facing guidance to support sustainable accessibility practices and remediation workflows

• Use accessibility tools, dashboards, reports, audits, and documentation processes to identify barriers, track remediation efforts, and inform training priorities

• Collaborate with legal, compliance, disability resources, student services, information technology, academic leadership, and other stakeholders to promote equitable access to digital learning environments

• Stay current on digital accessibility standards, instructional accessibility practices, and higher education compliance requirements

• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the department and college

Rate of pay $19.76 per hour *Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Web & Digital Accessibility, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 1-2 years of experience supporting digital content design, delivery, or learning technologies

• Demonstrated experience applying accessibility best practices (e.g., accessible documents, captions, Canvas/LMS content) in an educational or organizational setting.

• Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA, ADA Title II, and accessibility evaluation practices for documents and web/LMS content

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience directly supporting digital accessibility in a higher education setting

• Experience teaching, training, or providing end-user support to adult learners (in person and/or remotely)

• Experience coordinating with third-party vendors or document remediation services.

• Relevant certification (preferred), such as IAAP CPACC or WAS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of digital accessibility principles and WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards as applied to instructional content

• Familiarity with ADA Title II requirements for higher education instructional materials and communications

• Knowledge of instructional design principles and accessible-by-design learning practices.

• Ability to review instructional content for accessibility barriers and recommend practical remediation strategies with guidance as needed

• Proficiency with learning management systems and common instructional content formats (HTML, Word, PDF, PowerPoint, video)

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex accessibility concepts in clear, faculty-friendly language

• Ability to collaborate across academic and professional units while respecting faculty ownership of curriculum

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple support initiatives simultaneously

• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement in digital learning
