Roles & Responsibilities:
The Department of Pathology, Molecular and Cell-Based Medicine at the Mount Sinai Health System and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City is recruiting a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow in the Molecular Genomics Laboratory.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will focus on the development of novel genomic assays into the laboratory consistent with diagnostic efforts in Thoracic Oncology. The assays are anticipated to predominantly utilize next-generation sequencing (NGS) methodologies, though other technologies may also be employed where applicable. The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in cross laboratory/technology collaborations, and will be expected to present findings at internal and external forums. The candidate will have the opportunity to partake in collaborative research studies with faculty in the Department of Pathology and Center for Thoracic Oncology at the Tisch Cancer Institute (TCI).
The candidate must have a PhD in a relevant field with a deep bench-level working knowledge of genomics in oncology. Prior experience is preferred in cfDNA-based NGS assays and a broad understanding of the application of other molecular technologies. In addition, the candidate must have excellent communication skills (verbal and writing), be highly organized and timeline-driven, and be a strong team member.
The Molecular Genomics Laboratory currently performs molecular testing to service both oncology and non-oncology conditions using a variety of molecular technologies. The Department is a rapidly growing, dynamic, progressive academic department committed to managing knowledge and improving patient care. The Molecular Pathology Division of the Pathology Department currently comprises four specialty laboratories supported by a dedicated team of allied health staff and state of the art laboratory infrastructure including flow cytometry, transplant and regenerative pathology, cytogenomics, and molecular genomics/genetics laboratories. The Center for Thoracic Oncology/TCI is a multidisciplinary center focusing on research in lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies and includes faculties from all clinical cancer disciplines as well as faculty members from basic and translational research labs.
Interested applicants should submit their application and C.V. including names of three potential references to:
