Role overview
We are seeking a Senior/Staff Product Manager to lead instrument and software product strategy, development, and lifecycle management. The ideal candidate combines deep genomics market knowledge with experience developing end-to-end instrument systems across both research and clinical applications, and thrives at the intersection of science, product, and business.

In this role, you will act as the bridge between our hardware and software engineering teams and end users, translating customer workflows into intuitive digital solutions. This is a cross-functional, high-impact position responsible for shaping the future of Countable PCR's product portfolio, driving adoption through product innovation and automation, and enabling the success of both our customers and internal teams.

What you'll do

Product and Software Launch:

  • Define and maintain product requirements grounded in customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights.
  • Partner with program management to support the product development process (PDP) in partnership with R&D scientists and engineers to ensure on-time, high quality launches and deliver products that customers need.
  • Own and lead communication readiness, the end-to-end product roadmap for Countable PCR instrument systems, from early concept and prioritization through development, launch, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead forecasting, pricing, and margin analysis in collaboration with finance and commercial leadership across NPIs and sustaining platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with quality and operations teams to ensure compliance, scalability, and reliable supply of reagents.

Commercial Execution and Field Enablement:

  • Drive go-to-market strategy in positioning across the different market segments, working closely with product marketing to ensure clear, differentiated messaging.
  • Own and support field adoption by developing training, technical content, and customer-facing resources (e.g product videos, training data sets etc)
  • Build and define market driven pricing and rental programs as necessary.
  • Participate in customer-facing activities, conferences and key reference labs market development initiatives

Insights, Forecasting and Lifecycle Management

  • Lead and support voice-of customer and market research initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of competitive technologies, build battlecards, market trends in key application areas.
  • Support demand planning and forecasting activities with operations and finance

What we're looking for

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field; MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or product development (PDP) within molecular diagnostics, life sciences tools, or assay development.
  • Hands-on expertise in life-sciences instrument and software platform development, from an end-to-end user perspective.
  • Experience supporting research applications in cell and gene therapy, bioprocessing, biopharma drug development, QC is preferred.
  • Familiarity with development of software data analysis, reporting and visualization using molecular techniques like NGS, PCR, is a plus.
  • Strong attention to details, able to see and integrate assay and reagent products that work seamlessly with our instrument and software ecosystems.
  • Collaborative mindset, with a track record of enabling product marketing and commercial teams to succeed.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel 10-20% for partner collaborations, customer visits, and conferences (including internationally).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across scientific, commercial, and executive teams with ability to present at conferences etc.
  • Familiarity with the clinical diagnostics market, including regulatory considerations (IVD, LDTs, CLIA labs).
