Overview:
Talcott's Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to deeply immerse themselves in real-life business challenges! Talcott is seeking an IT intern to support our Information Technology department as a Software Engineering Intern. The ideal candidate will get hands-on experience in Python, SQL, Azure, and MS Fabric technologies to develop software solutions. The selected individual will work with our Software Engineers to analyze data, provide project support, and/or potentially develop code for Talcott's Business Applications portfolio.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data/requirements and translate into technical specifications
  • Analyze, design, and possibly develop software programs aligned to the portfolio
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, business users, project managers, and others to bring the planned outcome to closure
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

Qualifications:
  • Student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
  • Solid technical proficiency with an eagerness to learn new technologies such as Python, SQL, React, MS Fabric, Power BI or other coding tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and positive attitude
  • Team oriented with the ability to work well independently
  • Previous internship experience is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and growth
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to "do what it takes" to meet business deliverables

Compensation:
This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott's total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
