We are looking for a Customer Service Representative (CSR) II-III for our Rohnert Park branch. The CSR is a full-time, customer-facing in branch position that is responsible for day-to-day banking transactions. Summit State Bank's Customer Service Representatives provide outstanding service in processing deposit transactions and assisting with all the Bank's deposit products and services. This position is eligible for our incentive program in addition to regular wages. Priority will be given to applicants with prior banking experience.
Teller Responsibilities
  • Process all types of transactions related to deposit accounts (examples: deposits, withdrawals, cashier's check purchases, wire transfers, etc.).
  • Ensure cash limits are observed, and teller and branch cash is balanced daily.
  • Review corrections, large items and 2 signatures required.
  • Balance ATM and vault.
  • Properly record transactions for account analysis.
  • Perform item capture duties, as needed.
  • Online Banking: Perform reset failed logins and password changes.
  • Business eBanking: Perform password changes.
  • Perform safe deposit duties by opening accounts, controlling access, assisting customers and processing affiliated reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all related regulatory requirements.

Customer Relations
  • Promote the culture, products, services, policies, and standards of the bank.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided.
  • Actively seek opportunities to promote Bank products and services among existing customers and prospects and refer potential business to the Branch Manager.
  • Participate in customer retention calling efforts to provide excellent customer service, to cross-sell products and services, and to gain referrals.
  • Respond to customer inquiries; research and resolve customer issues.
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere and courteous service.

New Account Responsibilities (Candidates with New Account responsibilities will be given priority.)
  • Open new consumer and business deposit accounts in accordance with policies and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation for all deposit products and services (examples: deposit accounts, online banking, wire transfers agreements, Positive Pay agreements, ACH agreements, Business eBanking).
  • Analyze customer relationships for the purpose of recommending products to the customer (such as online baking, remote deposit, Positive Pay and overdraft protection).
  • Analyze customer relationships for the purpose of recommending rate increases and waivers to the managers.
  • Perform account maintenance (examples: signer changes, vesting changes, address changes, email addresses, telephone updates, updating customer identification information).
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of all deposit related products and services.
  • Online Banking: Set up of new consumer and business users and maintenance (examples of maintenance: address changes, telephone numbers, adding sub users, company administration modifications).
  • Business eBanking: Performing password changes.

Other Duties
  • Crosstrain in other duties as directed.
  • Assist with various operational tasks performed in the branch.

The strong candidate will have an intermediate level of banking knowledge with at least two years of banking experience, is knowledgeable in opening new accounts and has the ability to build customer relationships. Candidates must exhibit superior customer service skills and fine attention to detail.
