Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE
To requisition, receive, store, and issue materials, supplies, and equipment to meet service area needs, and keep records on materials and supplies to account properly for their receipt and disposition. To assist in other service area activities as time permits.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (REASON POSITION EXISTS IS TO PERFORM THESE FUNCTIONS)

1. Maintain sufficient inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment to meet service area needs, without unnecessary overstocking. Requisition commonly used distribution materials as needed.
2. Receive materials and accurately match packing slips to orders. Prepare receiving tickets for all materials received and submit to Purchasing Agent.
3. Maintain a daily record of the quantity of materials or items received or distributed on the appropriate computer program.
4. Assemble material for crew timely and daily, based on job orders and/or work orders.
5. Accurately prepare records, for corporate office, on any material sold.
6. Prepare individual material tickets (Issue, Returned, and Retirement) daily according to established procedures.
7. Sort and place materials or items in appropriate storage locations according to material type.
8. Following safety standards, load and unload materials using JIB Hoist and/or loading equipment or counter balance lift truck as appropriate.
9. Transport materials to other service areas.
10. Load and unload freight/materials from trucks.
11. Participate in periodic inventory of materials, supplies and equipment. Assist in the year-end inventory audit. Keep warehouse and grounds clean and orderly, ensuring accessibility and safety.
12. Ensure that rubber protective devices are rotated and tested as required.
13. Assists Operations or Engineering in staking new lines as needed.
14. Perform minor maintenance, repairs and painting of buildings and warehouses.
15. Properly label all specialty equipment with company number and appropriate signage.
16. Assist line crew as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is exposed to external weather conditions including rain, sleet, snow, etc., as well as varying degree of hot and cold temperatures. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires you stand as much as two-thirds of your workday while walking or sitting as little as one-third of your day. Also required are repetitive movements of your hands, arms and shoulders to finger, handle or feel various items. In addition to being exposed to vibration by equipment up to two-thirds of the workday, the position places you near moving mechanical parts up to two-thirds or more of your workday. Will be required to walk on uneven terrain and drive company vehicles daily.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative operates on a four/ten work schedule.
TRAVEL
Ability to travel to the different district offices required. Occasional travel to training seminars and/or conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. One to two years of relevant experience required.
3. Flaggers Card, CPR Card, and counter balance lift truck Card.
4. Understanding of 29 CFR 1910.269 Subpart R OSHA regulations.
5. Rural electric cooperative experience preferred.
6. Valid Oregon Commercial driver's license Class A and insurability.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
1. Strong MS Office Suite skills.
2. Reliable transportation for getting to work.
3. Must meet the requirements of pre-employment drug screening and comply with company drug and alcohol policy while employed.
