Join our team as a day shift, full-time,  Physician Surgical Hospital, Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) in Amarillo, TX.

Get to Know Your Team: 

  • Physicians Surgical Hospitals includes two surgical centers - Panhandle Surgical Hospital and Quail Creek Surgical Hospital, and one physical therapy center - Quail Creek Physical Therapy - and a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center, Advanced Imaging Center of Amarillo.

Responsibilities
  • Surgical First Assistants assist physicians in surgery and may perform specific surgical tasks under “professional supervision”.
  • Significant surgical tasks include but are not limited to opening and closing surgical sites, exposure of the surgical site, harvesting grafts, dissecting tissue, removing tissue, implanting devices, and altering tissues.
  • Perform the CST role when not utilized in the First Assistant Role. 

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Current Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). 
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

  • Previous CST experience (prefer two years).
  • Previous CSFA experience (prefer minimum 2 years exp).
  • Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program. 
  • Current CSFA certification.
